Headteacher's Welcome

We hope you will enjoy finding out more about our school from our website. Although it will give you an idea of school life at Meadowhead Infant School, you are most welcome to contact the school office for more information.

We are very proud of our happy, nurturing school. We believe that Meadowhead is a very special place to be, and our parents tell us they are very happy with how we care for their children. As an Infant school, we place great emphasis on how we develop children’s attitudes to learning, and we know our pupils really enjoy coming to school. Our very recent OFSTED report (December 2022) says we are a 'Good' school with comments such as

"Pupils skip happily into school."

"Reading is at the heart of the curriculum. Children are surrounded by a wonderful selection of book to entice them to read. The school library us a magical place where pupils can snuggle down with a favourite story or choose a book to take home."

"Pupils with SEND are identified quickly. Leaders and staff are skills in making adaptions so that these pupils can access the curriculum with their classmates"

We aim to ensure that all pupils are valued as individuals, encouraging respect, self-confidence and discipline whilst promoting good relationships and ensuring tolerance and consideration towards others. Children are encouraged to be healthy and to care about their physical well-being, as well as to be responsible for their immediate environment and the world around them. We want each child to reach their full potential and to develop as caring members of their family, our school and the wider community.

Although we are separate schools, we work very closely with Meadowhead Junior School which most of our year 2 pupils transfer to. More information about the Junior can be found by visiting their website.

You are very welcome to visit us at any time as we believe there is no need for 'open days' or special visiting arrangements as we want you to see what happens here every day at our wonderful school. We would also be delighted to show you around and answer any further questions you might have so just give us a ring!

With best wishes,

James Waddington,
Headteacher
