16th October 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

What another brilliant week. The children have been brilliant once again and the highlight for me was walking around school seeing all the amazing phonics teaching that is going on and seeing the impact it is having throughout school.

It is not surprising then I have been very impressed with all of our children’s reading since September and I am amazed at the progress our children are making. By listening to your child read every night you are making a huge difference in the progress your child will make this year. Keep it up.

Parents Evening

Next week is Parents Evening where your class teacher will contact you over the telephone to discuss your child and how they have settled into school. If you have not yet got a time please speak to your class teacher at the door or arrange a time over Class Dojo.

  • Hazel, Sycamore and Oak is on Tuesday the 20th
  • Willow, Beech and Maple is on Wednesday the 21st

Teachers will do their best to keep to the time slots but they may overrun! If you have not signed up for a specific time then your child’s teacher will call you.

Class Dojo

If your child is self-isolating then it is a legal requirement for your child to complete the learning set. This learning will be set via the free app called Class Dojo. If you have not already downloaded the App then please do so.

COVID Update

In the event that we are forced to close a class ‘bubble’, we will inform you via a text. We will not be sharing this information on Facebook, as it will only apply to certain parents and families.

If you have had to get your child tested due to them developing symptoms, please let us know, and inform us straightaway when you get the result. If it is positive, please call the office on 01254 202600. If you find out of a positive case out of normal school hours then please email me on james.waddington@meadowheadinfants.blackburn.sch.uk or via a message on Facebook.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mr Waddington
